ORWB accepting nominations for assistance

Operation Red, White, and Brave is extending a helping hand to veterans, active military and their families.

The ORWB Foundation recently launched an online nomination form to collect requests to help individuals who have a special need or a special wish requiring financial or physical assistance. (Visit https://firstservicebank.com/orwb to access the form.)

“The ORWB Foundation is committed to celebrating and assisting those who have served and are currently serving in the military as well as their loved ones,” said Rebecca Barnard, board chairman. “We recognize that sometimes needs arise and ORWB wants to provide that help, where we can.”

The online submission form is easy to complete and includes just eight questions, including the nominee’s name, need or wish, and why they should be considered. Nominations will be reviewed by the ORWB Foundation. “We will work to fulfill as many requests as we can,” said Rebecca.

The Operation Red, White, and Brave initiative was created in 2020 to reflect one of First Service Bank’s core values - patriotism. The bank recognizes the sacrifices veterans have made and is working to give back to those who have served our country. In its first year, ORWB raised $80,000 to build a house for a veteran. Since then, ORWB has expanded its mission to provide help to more veterans and active military.

In addition to providing volunteer manpower to support ORWB, the First Service Bank team actively raises money for the foundation through customer donations and special projects. First Service Bank matches dollar for dollar on all funds raised.

Rebecca is asking for the community’s help in spreading the word about ORWB. “If you know of veterans, military personnel or their families in need or if they have a special wish, please send them to us. We would love the opportunity to help them.”

“It is an honor to help the men and women who have served our country to protect the freedoms we hold so dearly,” said Rebecca.
